Half (54%) of Indian consumers are spending less on ordering food online during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to research from Omnicom Media Group. In contrast, two-fifths (38%) say they have stockpiled essentials.
Tier 1 cities and female consumers are most likely to cut their spending on food delivery, with 59% and 58% of respondents saying so respectively. This is also true among younger consumers – 57% of 25-34 year-olds are spending less, compared to 49% of 45-60 year-olds.
