National Public Radio (NPR), the media organization, has enjoyed success in the podcasting space by extending and adapting its expertise from traditional radio broadcasting.

The 47-year-old Washington, DC-based organization stepped into the podcasting space in 2005. And it now boasts numerous category-leading shows, including:

  • “On the Media”, co-hosted by long-time advertising/marketing journalist Bob Garfield;
  • “Up First”, a news overview made available every weekday morning;
  • “TED Radio Hour”, a weekly show featuring talks from the global conference series;
  • “Planet Money”, which focuses on economics;
  • “Fresh Air”, providing in-depth interviews – covering news, business and the arts – six days a week.
