Nudges might be low hanging fruit, but that doesn’t mean they’re not effective

Nudges are small, indirect suggestions that can have a big impact on people’s behaviour. They’ve become a popular tactic in the world of marketing, revolutionising the way brands influence their customers.

During his talk at Mumbrella’s 2020 MSIX conference, Behavioural Insights Team managing director Rory Gallagher argued that nudges have become so commonplace that some marketers write them off as ‘too easy’, or simply ‘low hanging fruit.’ Gallagher countered that although nudges might seem small, they can still have a big effect on large, complex systems.
