Situation Analysis
Today, 29 out of 50 U.S. states legally allow discrimination against LGBTQ+ people. Doctors can refuse treatment, landlords can deny housing, and businesses can refuse service simply because of who someone is or who they love. In fact, more than 250 bills were introduced in state legislatures in 2021 that would further restrict LGBTQ+ people's rights or outright eliminate them — providing greater grounds for legal discrimination. Regardless of what passed and did not, one thing was clear: the LGBTQ+ community was facing its greatest threat to existence — EVER.
