UN Women: She said no!

Gender equality organisation UN Women used its annual campaign to tackle the issue of intimate partner violence in Turkey.

Where were we?

Every year on November 25th, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, UN Women conducts various campaigns to raise awareness about violence against women. Although these campaigns are well-received by communities sensitive to the issue, they struggle to reach a broader audience. This year, they focused on intimate partner violence, a form of violence against women.

Why were we there?

Even though women's rights are strong in Turkey, there is certainly a group of people who choose to ignore the issue. Convincing the indifferent masses to speak out against violence was difficult....
