Technology and social media companies have too much power and need to face stronger regulation, according to the latest data from the YouGov-Cambridge Globalism Project. Across 22 countries, 50% of respondents said they think tech and social media companies currently have too much power and influence.
In only one country was 'too much power and influence' not the most common answer. In Japan, 'about the right amount' was marginally ahead, possibly a result of the low levels of social media consumption in the country.
